Music is a kindred spirit to the soul which can sway one to an emotional calm or hype another with an adrenaline rush. The range of music can begin with a stroke of an ivory key to a full octave vocal from Minnie Riperton. The majority of genres provide quality music, but one has to keep an open mind and an open ear. My personal favorites are R&B, Jazz, Rap (pre-2000), etc.
A family reunion or BBQ wouldn’t be complete without Rick James, Zapp or Michael Jackson. And what’s a romantic love fest without Marvin Gaye, Luther, Anita Baker or The Isleys? Sometimes, I like to listen to artists whom do not get radio play or the recognition they deserve. Below is a list of songs that I like to listen to as I unwind after a long day. It’s some chill music from the R&B genre.
